About this role

What Production Set-up and Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Production Setup and Maintenance sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills.

Responsibilities

  • Install and connect various mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, compressors, control units, fans, evaporators, and electrical sources, setting controls as required.

  • Fabricate, install, and join facility infrastructure components such as metal equipment, ducts, pipes, valves, filters, and plumbing lines based on blueprints and specifications.

  • Construct, install, maintain, paint, and repair exterior and interior building structures, including walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, and doors.

  • Perform maintenance and repair on equipment, including disassembling, cleaning, replacing worn parts and filters, conducting preventive maintenance (PMs), and managing spare parts inventory.

  • Maintain and repair facility water systems.

  • Inspect, repair, replace, and maintain safety and fire equipment.

  • Provide assistance with HVAC control systems.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical malfunctions, performing repairs, rebuilds, and adjustments on various equipment.

  • Adjust and maintain automatic and semi-automatic machines to ensure quality production, including installing, adjusting, and replacing components, and regulating controls.

  • Report unrepairable machine malfunctions and consult with designated personnel on electrical issues, recommending equipment modifications as needed.

  • Comply with all national/federal regulations and established EH&S procedures and policies (e.g., ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA), ensuring personal and team safety, and actively participating in EH&S activities and training.

  • Utilize and maintain a variety of hand, welding, cutting, bending, and power tools.

  • Prepare machine production and maintenance documentation.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including working overtime and assisting with machine operation.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience, preferred

  • High School diploma, GED or degree in related field (electrical/mechanical, HVAC, or welding certification), or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility

  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications

  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues

  • May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments

  • Adheres to all quality guidelines

  • Works with limited supervision

  • Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor

  • May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Anticipated hourly range: $22.50 per hour - $35.31 per hour
