Cardinal Health Canada is currently seeking an Industrial Mechanic Millwright to join our Gananoque Team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide production support in a fast-paced, highly technical environment by maintaining, adjusting, and troubleshooting production equipment. 

The position requires working shifts in a manufacturing environment. Frequent project work such as machine modifications, construction, and installation of new equipment is also required. The candidate must be able to communicate freely with machine operators, lead hands, supervisors, engineers, and other mechanics daily to improve equipment OEE while ensuring safety and quality targets are maintained.

Shift: Hours: Shifts will run on a 40 hr weekday rotation Mon - Fri. After 2-3 months, this shift will change to a 24/7 rotation

Location: Gananoque, Ont

Your Contributions to the Organization:

  • Repair machinery, investigate and determine the root cause of problems working in a team environment.
  • Install replacement parts as required, perform necessary setups and adjustments.
  • Perform required testing to ensure satisfactory performance.
  • Document work and comply with ISO procedures and standards.
  • Perform P.M. work on production machinery, test machine when assembled.
  • Assemble new machinery from Engineer’s drawings.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and consult with engineering to improve part design.
  • Compliance with all applicable procedures, safety regulations (MSDS, PPE - i.e., glasses, shoes, gloves etc.) and training requirements
  • Safety: follow procedures, comply with ESA, ensure equipment is safe for operators, escalate unsafe conditions, injuries, and hazard observations
  • Fabricate replacement parts in the Machine Shop, machine new parts from drawings or broken / worn components.
  • Fitting / Assembling
  • Engagement: participate in shift meetings and effectively communicate breakdowns and actions taken to resolve
  • Keep production and maintenance personnel informed of daily challenges.

Education / Training and/or Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • College Trade Certificate
  • Apprentice to Trade Certificate
  • License (433A) Preferred
  • Three to five (3-5) years of general machine shop experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude, operation of machines, lubricants, electrical knowledge
  • Knowledge of Industrial Machinery and Maintenance (Preventive)

Pay range: $32.00 per hour (Plus 0.84$ shift differential)

Bonus eligible: Yes.  Bonus awards are not guaranteed and are determined based on individual performance, company performance, and other business factors, in accordance with the company’s bonus plan.
