Coordinate the cost report reimbursement function for the Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare programs at a multi-facility health system.The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:
Coordinate and assist in the preparation of the annual Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare cost reports including the collection of information required to prepare the reports
Coordinate and assist with any health system audits, requests or certifications conducted by MAC, NC Medicaid or independent auditors
Assist in the preparation of Wage Index and Charity Care submissions
Analyze GME/IME data to determine accurate Medicare/Medicaid Reimbursement
Collect and analyze data related to Nursing and Allied Health programs
Analyze data for accuracy and additional reimbursement opportunities
Coordinate documentation requests for Medicare, NC Medicaid or independent auditors
Perform Special Projects as directed
Other duties as assigned
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
5 years’ experience in government cost report reimbursement at a multi-facility health system required
1 year experience preparing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for LTAC, Critical Access Hospitals with Rural Health Clinics, Acute Care Hospitals, Teaching Hospitals with Inpatient Rehab, Hospice and Cancer Centers required
Knowledge of Medicare regulations and NC Medicaid Reimbursement programs
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Working knowledge of GL (Workday) and Patient Accounting Systems (EPIC)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Requires mobility to meet with management at their service area throughout the system
May require extended periods of sedentary work and extended working hours to meet stated objectives
