Greet the public, communicate messages, coordinate telephone calls and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. Processes select travel and capital expenditures, schedule assigned meetings and maintains office and administrative supplies.The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. Greet the public and fellow employees and direct them to appropriate people or places for assistance
Accepts and conveys accurate and timely messages, routing telephone calls appropriately
Distributes mail coming into and originating from the office
Assists with monitoring and record keeping related to operating and capital budget
Processes travel requests and educational arrangements
Computerizes select information for ease of retrieval
Maintains office supplies
Schedules meetings upon request
Ensure integrity of communication systems with Personnel Department regarding status changes, PAFs, etc.
Maintains and monitors system for recording and tracking personnel requisitions
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
High school diploma or equivalent required
None
Read, write and speak fluent English
Basic knowledge of computers, multi-line telephones, copiers and calculators
Strong interpersonal skills required
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Sits for prolonged periods
Ability to communicate verbally
Auditory and visual acuity to accurately perform job functions
Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
