About this role

  1. Configure, install, maintain, and trouble shoot printers, scanners, electronics,  and other peripheral devices in local and wide area networks.  
  2. Configure, install, maintain, and trouble shoot PC Workstations including application installation and debugging, network client installation and maintenance.  
  3. Assist with network management and monitoring.     
  4. Install, relocate, replace, troubleshoot and maintain VoIP telephones  
  5. Assist in supporting and maintaining mobile/cell phones and other handheld computing devices  
  6. Performs daily operational tasks including  maintaining problem / solution documentation   
  7. Prepares and maintains written documentation and inventory of all systems devices.  
  8. Regularly takes part in technical training  
  9. On-call, and weekend work are required.   
  10. Attends departmental and user meetings as required.   
  11. May provide coordination of small tasks involving more than one end user computing staff member, primarily related to Move/Add/Change (MAC) or construction related scopes of work. 
  12. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.

Associate in Science with major in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work related experience. 

  • One or both of the following certifications: 

CompTIA IT Fundamentals or CompTIA A+ 

    or 

Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Windows Operating System Fundamentals 

or equivalent combination of education and work related experience 

  • Minimum of three (3) years hands on experience as a Computer Technician supporting data related computing services requirements, and at least one year supporting voice (VOIP) related requirements 
  • Experience with the installation and use of computer application software focusing on Microsoft products such as Windows Operating Systems and Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) required. 
  • Three (3) years experience in a multi-platform environment supporting its networking infrastructure, operating systems and protocols. 
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills including identifying and resolving computer and peripheral setup, trouble shooting, and component failure. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision. 
  • Proven interpersonal relation skills. 
  • Valid Massachusetts drivers license for automobiles. 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
