1. Plans, organizes and manages nursing duties and provides leadership in complying with governmental, accreditation and other regulations/requirements and with hospital policies

3. Provides input into development and implementation of departmental policies/procedures, mission, goals, budget
4. May participate in recruitment activities and staff orientation training
5. Participates in the nursing care related to assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patients' health and wellness
6. Participates in the auditing and tracking of all medications and medical supplies/equipment including ensuring timely maintenance of all equipment
7. Teams with manager to instill and reinforce QM principles throughout department and participates in audits and feedback to staff
8. Responsible for monitoring patient flow and responding with the appropriate actions to expedite patients throughput
9. Facilitates communication with staff regarding department activities, policy changes, etc.
10. Completes Daily Staffing Assignments for assigned shift
11. Communicates with management to determine staffing needs
12. Works 36 hours clinically and 4 hours of on site clinical preparation, i.e. QM, daily staffing assignments, equipment availability, etc.
13. Participates in hospital wide clinical leader networking sessions

· Graduation from an approved nursing education program. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field or enrolled in an accredited program
· Current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
· Current Basic Life Support Certification required and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification where appropriate.
· Successful passage of CCH’s Pharmacology Exam
· Three to five years recent experience as a Charge Nurse or Preceptor
· Must demonstrate leadership abilities. Must possess good oral and written communication skills
· Three to five recent years of progressively responsible experience in related area
· With all qualifications being considered, the final decision as to who is awarded the position will be heavily weighted toward the candidate with the most actual hands on patient care experience.
· CPI within 4 months of position and must maintain certification.
· Chemotherapy certification within 6 months of new position required for Mugar 4 ONLY.
