As a new Electrical Journeyman at Cannon Construction, your daily expectations will revolve around delivering quality work while prioritizing safety in this Safety Sensitive Role. You’ll start your day by reviewing project blueprints and plans, ensuring a thorough understanding of the tasks at hand. Collaborating with your team, you will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in both government contract work and private work settings.
You will be responsible for adhering to safety standards on-site, particularly when accessing Military bases. Regular inspections of electrical components will be a crucial part of your routine to ensure compliance with local codes. Additionally, you will document your work accurately, maintaining records for prevailing wage requirements.
Your hands-on experience will grow as you tackle various projects, all while fostering a spirit of teamwork and professionalism within the organization.
To excel as an Electrical Journeyman at Cannon Construction, you will need a robust skill set that ensures success in this Safety Sensitive Role. A minimum of 5-7 years of electrical experience is essential, along with a valid Washington State Electrical 01 License, including current continuing education units (CEUs). Your ability to operate various tools and software relevant to the electrical trade will be critical in maintaining efficiency and quality in your work.
Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and convey important information. Since the role involves traveling out of town, adaptability and readiness for long hours will be key. Additionally, you must possess a valid driver’s license to comply with the demands of both government contract work and private work, while ensuring that you comply with prevailing wage standards.
