The purpose of the Credit Risk Management division of Canadian Tire Bank is to provide world class analytics to maximize our credit card portfolio profitability by balancing risk with reward potential and strengthening the customer relationship with Canadian Tire Corporation.
What you’ll do:
Analyze credit card portfolio performance and provide actionable insights to optimize risk and profitability
Develop, maintain, and implement Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models (PD, EAD, LGD) and robust stress testing frameworks
Build and enhance predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify risk drivers and assess macroeconomic sensitivities
Prepare and validate data using SAS, SQL and Python to ensure accuracy and reliability for modeling
Collaborate with Finance and Credit Risk teams to deliver comprehensive analyses
Effectively communicate results to key stakeholders and senior management
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-changing business environment
What you bring:
A university degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics or Statistics preferred)
3+ years of experience in predictive modeling, data analytics, or data science
Proficiency in programming and data extraction/mining tools such as SAS, SQL or Python
Strong ability to work with complex data and translate business needs into statistically sound solutions
Strategic mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture and assess broader impacts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting analytical insights to stakeholders
Hands-on experience with IFRS9 standards and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) modeling
Knowledge of Macroeconomic Stress Testing (considered an asset)

Our typical hiring range is between $64,000 and $106,000 Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
