Reporting to the Manager of Housing and  Client Care, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:

• Assisting clients in developing, and maintaining healthy daily routines, that promote recovery and independence by reinforcing skill development through means of coaching, demonstrating and assisting clients with daily tasks as required.
• Coaching clients with personal hygiene care, and activities of daily living, and assisting as required.

• Teaching meal planning and nutritious meal preparation and assisting clients in the preparation and clean up.
• Coaching clients with routine household tasks, i.e. cleaning, yard maintenance etc. and assisting as required.
• Assisting clients in accessing recreational and community based activities.
• Keep the team abreast of progress and/or setback and will adjust strategies through consultation with the clinical lead.

Qualifications:

• A minimum requirement of a certificate in Personal Support Worker (PSW) college program from a recognized post-secondary institution; a post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline or a Social Service Worker Diploma would be considered an asset

• Completion of the Food Handlers Course would be an asset.
• Valid Ontario drivers Licence and access to a vehicle.

• Preference will be given to a qualified Bilingual (French and English) candidate. 

Hours of Work:    35 hours/week. Flexible hours are required to meet the position requirements.

Salary: Commensurate with experience within the range: $22.02-$26.79 per hour , inclusive of HOOPP
