We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Aluminum Extrusion Press Operator at our Brampton Plant.
Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.

- Set up machinery and ensure all required materials are readily available
- Run the press in sequence of the job orders
- Set the press to the correct temperature and run speed per the work instructions to optimize for good quality product
- Monitor all operations on the line to ensure that parts are produced to customer specification
- Monitor the production equipment and report any machine issue to the supervisor and maintenance team in a timely manner
- Meet daily targets for schedule adherence, activation, etc.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
- Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
- Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to use a measuring tape to read and take measurements
- Basic computer skills required
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset
- Plant Environment
- Twelve hour rotating continental shift
- Exposure to loud noise and heat
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
- Overtime as needed
