About the role 


As our Payroll Manager, you'll make a valuable - and valued – contribution. The role will be responsible for processing data for the monthly payrolls within our UK operation (approx. 650 members of staff). 


The Payroll Manager is responsible for executing and overseeing end-to-end payroll processes. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery dealing with complex payroll issues, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement across payroll operations.  


  


What you'll be doing 



  • Manage all day to day processing within the monthly payroll cycle for the UK entity 

  • Run monthly reports to validate payroll before processing including statutory payments

  • Ensure compliance with local legislation (i.e HMRC, pensions, statutory reporting)

  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records, ensuring proper setup of tax codes, benefits, allowances, and deductions

  • Administer statutory payments (e.g., SSP/SMP/SPP/SAP in the UK

  • Support pension enrolment, statutory reporting, and compliance obligations

  • Agree & authorise RTI submissions

  • Assist with all Payroll Inbox admin

  • Assist with benefit administration – eg, Private Health, Travel insurance, Cycle Scheme

  • Assist with Holiday Record Administration


  


We're excited if you have 



  • 4–6 years of hands-on payroll experience

  • Deep knowledge of UK payroll legislation 

  • Experience working with external payroll vendors and internal platforms 

  • Proven ability to reconcile payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve independently

  • Strong analytical mindset with high accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality 

  • Demonstrated experience operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • CIPP or comparable European payroll certification (or working toward certification)

  • Experience with benefits-in-kind and year-end reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliation tools)

  • Experience supporting internal/external audits
