WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

The Capacity Planning team, is a high-impact team that plays a critical role in shaping how the airport operates today and plans for tomorrow.  With a focus on capacity planning and schedules facilitation, the team works collaboratively to balance airline needs with infrastructure realities, ensuring smooth, efficient and sustainable airport operations.  It's a thoughtful, detail-oriented group that thrives on solving complex challenges, engaging with stakeholders, and making data informed decisions that support long-term growth and operational excellence.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Use Facility Scheduling guidelines to balance air carrier (passenger / cargo) resource requests
  • Assessing and allocating terminal capacity for each day of the seasonal planning
  • Monitor airline operational compliance with Scheduling guidelines, generate and distribute standardized IATA scheduling messages to airline community outlining preliminary approved schedules.
  • Develop and maintain processes to analyze schedule and actual operational flight data, assess airport resource capacity, and generate standardized reports for dissemination of peak week seasonal plan to the airport community.
  • Analyze data and identify trends
  • Collaborate with both internal group and external stakeholders in the development and refining of airport systems (processors), passenger flows & behavior profiling and operational plans
  • Build and maintain a solid library of information, collateral, and data to quickly respond to customers and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Responds to all requests from stakeholders in a professional and timely manner; requests may range from a need for basic information, data analysis

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience working in an airline scheduling and/or airport planning environment or other related industries. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Aviation, Business Administration or a related field
  • Good understanding of the airport/airline business; excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability/flexibility
  • Strong analytical and research skills combined with a solid understanding of airport capacity constraints. Exceptional written communication as well as experience in preparing, analysing and presenting statistical data, Excel, working with Gant charts

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Experience working with flight schedule software (e.g., DiiO), including analyzing and communicating schedule changes.
  • Aviation/transportation experience with specific knowledge of passenger flows, aircraft stand allocation plans, facility/airport systems planning (check-in, security, etc.), terminal operations, and other resource planning in a multifunctional technical environment.
  • Airport or airline operations experience will contribute to the ability to conceptualize all airport operational phases when considering the processing of passengers and the resulting airport capacities.
  • Experience or knowledge of IATA Chapter 6 SSIM format and the Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines (WASG).
