Job Summary:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of furniture, fixtures, doorknobs, walls, cabinetwork, table game repairs and minor departmental/casino area additions, partitions and permanent structures. Operated power tools, stationary power tools, and hand tools to perform assigned duties. This requires extensive balancing, coordination, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, kneeling, and the use of all extremities. Position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations to compute angular and linear dimensions.
Essential Functions/Duties:
Handling work orders: Obtaining orders at start of shift and walks to the designated repair location requires pushing/pulling/turning a tool cart (up to 400 lbs.) and/tool belt on waist (up to 20 lbs.) Must be able to exercise good judgement; lifting and carrying ladder and pushing/pulling scaffolding if needed in work area; repairing and constructing ceiling, walls, cabinets, and assisting in demolition of room - climbing, balancing, stretching, reaching, reading, observing, calculating.
Handling preventative work orders: Reading printout for instructions on areas needing inspection; making minor repairs if needed after inspection; lifting/carrying ladder to work area if needed.
Working with the shop crew/upholsterer: Must have working knowledge of how to operate stationary power equipment. (saws, joiner, shaper, panel rotor, radial arm saw, etc.) requires utmost attention/skill while operating; excellent reflexes required ability to balance, and, use hands/fingers, observe, hear, read, and write; reading blueprints, performing mathematics and geometric calculations.
Incidental/Additional Functions:
Attending monthly safety training meetings.
Clean-up performed by shop crew - bending, stretching, turning etc.
