Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for an NPI (New Product Introduction) Technician I who plays a vital role in supporting the introduction of new products into the manufacturing process. This position involves assisting in the testing, assembly, and troubleshooting of prototypes and pre-production units, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. The NPI Technician I collaborates with engineering and production teams to transition new products from development to full-scale manufacturing efficiently and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble prototypes and pre-production units according to engineering specifications and blueprints
  • Conduct functional tests, record data, and ensure product performance meets established standards
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues with new products or processes during the development phase
  • Provide feedback to engineers on potential design or process improvements
  • Assist in the development and validation of manufacturing processes for new products
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement process changes or improvements
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Report findings and provide detailed feedback to the engineering and NPI teams
  • Set up and operate basic tools and equipment required for prototype assembly and testing
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and report any issues promptly
  • Work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to support seamless product launches
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions related to NPI projects
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working in the lab or production areas
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices during testing and assembly

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical environment preferred
  • Experience with soldering, electronics assembly, or mechanical testing is a plus
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Proficient in using hand tools, measuring devices, and testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical Certification or associate degree in electronics, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred

  • M-F, 6a-4p

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
