Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst serves as a key liaison between the Development (R&D) and Operations teams, ensuring that new and enhanced software features meet company quality standards without negatively impacting existing systems or processes. This role is responsible for executing thorough testing, identifying risks, and advocating for quality throughout the development lifecycle.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering teams to develop effective test strategies, plans, and coverage for new features and enhancements.
Execute functional, regression, system, and data validation tests across applications and environments.
Review and analyze system requirements, specifications, and design documentation to identify test scenarios and risks.
Document and maintain QA test plans, test cases, testing procedures, and results.
Configure, manage, and utilize test environments and test data to support accurate and repeatable testing.
Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, Operations) to ensure quality expectations are understood and met.
Validate that user and business requirements are met through comprehensive testing.
Recommend, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce defects.
Support continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and testing methodologies.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, inspection, or auditing.
Strong understanding of QA principles and their role within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Working knowledge of multiple testing methodologies, including black-box and white-box testing, as well as functional and system testing.
Familiarity with software development and process methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum).
Experience working with or understanding web and data technologies such as HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
Experience using QA tools, test management systems such as Jira, TestRail.
Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and communicate findings and solutions to development teams.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certifications such as Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Six Sigma, or Quality Improvement are preferred but not required.

 

Computer Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
