Cadence, Inc. is seeking a CNC Technician on our 1st Shift (Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM)!  The position will be located at the Cranston, RI facility.

What will you do as a CNC Technician?

  • Perform tasks related to the safe operation of a CNC Swiss-style, multi-axis machine in a fast paced metal fabrication facility. Reads and interprets blueprints to set up and operate machines.
  • Use quality measuring tools to verify product conformity (micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, microscope, video measuring equipment and CMM), and follow work instructions, prints and other documents.  Maintain customer quality control records and chart.
  • Use production software systems to track product in the production process.
  • Follows scheduled maintenance plans for equipment and safety rules, resolves problems with Supervisor and monitors and troubleshoots machine condition and performance.

 

What are we seeking in the ideal candidate?

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education (GED) preferred
  • Two years manufacturing experience and/or training preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills utilizing them to interact with others in a positive manner
  • 5 years of experience in metal cutting
  • Candidate must be a fully self-sufficient and trained technician on CNC Swiss-style equipment
  • Must be able to complete tool changes and off sets as required
  • Candidate can read and interpret a detailed blueprint with multiple tolerances and smaller dimensions, and can use measuring equipment independently
  • Can execute the components of a set up sheet
  • Can successfully troubleshoot machines and resolve technical issues independently
  • Can complete minor set ups, read simple programs, and complete minor program edits successfully
  • Candidates are required to regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, control, etc.  Requirements include close visual inspection, whether with the naked eye or aided with magnifying instruments such as a microscope. Must be able to lift up between 45 and 70 pounds on occasion. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, pull, and push.  This job requires standing on your feet 100% of the time.  Willingness to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend, if required.
