Job Title: Internship - Hardware verification of FPGA prototype

Location: Cesson-Sévigné, France

Reports to: Sr Design Engineering Manager

Job Overview:

Our team designs and validates a complex secure hardware system for different markets.

To support software development and early system validation, we develop an FPGA-based prototype that closely mirrors the final hardware.

In order to ensure usability for software teams, this FPGA prototype must be properly validated and automatically tested.

The goal of this internship is to design, implement, and automate a validation solution for an FPGA prototype used in secure hardware development.

You will work at the intersection of hardware, software, and automation, and contribute to a solution that will be used by multiple engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze the system architecture
  • Design a validation strategy
  • Develop and validate the solution
  • Automate the validation flow into a GitLab CI pipeline
  • Document your work

Educational background: Currently pursuing a degree Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, with a strong focus on digital design and hardware architectures.

Experience: Previous experience with hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog/SystemVerilog) and Python-based test automation in a Linux environment. Familiar with system-level verification and synthesis flows using tools such as QuestaSim, Xcelium, or FPGA platforms. Exposure to ASIC design flows is a plus.

Languages: Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.

Technical skills:

  • Scripting using Python, Bash, and Makefile
  • FPGA platforms
  • RTL design analysis using VHDL and SystemVerilog
  • Strong familiarity with Linux-based development environments
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Test automation (Python)
  • Continuous Integration (Gitlab CI)
  • Experience with secure or safety-critical hardware blocks
  • Good documentation skills for technical reports and user documentations

Intitulé : Internship - Hardware verification of FPGA prototype
