The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Radiation Safety Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in Bethesda, MD. The Radiation Safety Technician will be responsible for radiation health dosimetry efforts across the base making sure all activities and procedures are in compliance with all relevant regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the issuance of radiation health dosimetry.

  • Conduct radiological surveys.

  • Maintain records that ensure facilities and equipment comply with relevant portions of 10 CFR.

  • Update training materials to meet current regulatory requirements.

  • Perform surveillances of radiation activities.

  • Maintain an inventory of calibrated radiation detection instruments.

  • Perform inventories or radioactive sources.

  • Review/ update operating and emergency procedures.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

  • Undergraduate degree majoring in physics or engineering (mechanical, chemical

  • 1-3yrs working experience as a physicist or engineer

  • Ability to communicate and convey information effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.

  • Identify problems and provide necessary technical support to resolve issues.

  • Experience organizing records, documents, and data.


Desired:

  • Experience with radiological activities as either a researcher or regulator (preferred but not required)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. $72,700 - $149,200
