About this role

About the Team

We are the BYD Czech Republic & Slovakia team — a passionate group of both young and seasoned professionals driven by innovation and a deep understanding of the automotive landscape. As a new entrant brand, we embrace complexity and change, and we are committed to long-term success by delivering top-tier BEV/PHEV products, exceptional customer experiences, and high-quality services to our local markets.

Our forward-thinking mindset, agility, and close collaboration with our valued partners form the foundation of our growth. United by a shared vision of excellence and sustainability, we work together to build a customer-centric and future-ready organization in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

About the Role

As Product Specialist – EPR Compliance (CZ & Slovakia), you will manage a portfolio of BYD vehicle models for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, supporting end-to-end product readiness for market success — from specification and pricing to launch planning and cross-functional enablement.

A key pillar of this role is ensuring Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance across applicable schemes (including batteries, vehicles, tyres, packaging, and regulated waste). While EPR responsibilities in many automotive organizations are handled within Aftersales, at BYD this agenda sits within the Product function — making this role ideal for candidates with product, compliance, or aftersales-related EPR experience who are ready to shape a new-market setup.

You will work closely with HQ and local stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Dealer Network, and other internal teams) to ensure product competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and smooth market launches.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities

Product Portfolio & Market Competitiveness

  • Manage a portfolio of car models for the Czech Republic & Slovakia.

  • Analyze market, competition, technology, and regulatory trends to support product decisions.

  • Define product specifications including versions, equipment strategy, pricing logic, and positioning.

HQ Collaboration & Localization

  • Collaborate with BYD HQ on product development topics, local market requirements, and localization needs.

  • Support alignment between HQ product planning and CZ/SK market expectations.

Homologation, EU Compliance & EPR

  • Coordinate homologation processes and support compliance with EU regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance across relevant schemes, including:

    • Batteries

    • Vehicles (where applicable)

    • Tyres

    • Packaging

    • Regulated waste

  • Support internal coordination to ensure documentation, reporting, and process readiness for EPR obligations in CZ/SK.

Product Materials & Internal Enablement

  • Prepare and update price lists, technical specifications, website content, and other product materials.

  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Dealer Network with:

    • Product trainings

    • Product argumentation and key selling points

    • Competitive product comparisons

Launch Planning

  • Participate in planning market launches and new model introduction strategies.

  • Support cross-functional readiness for new model introductions (timing, messaging, product content, compliance alignment).

Key Results

  • Timely and accurate product specification, pricing support, and launch execution readiness.

Compliance

  • Homologation coordination delivered on time with appropriate quality.

  • EPR compliance ensured across applicable schemes with clear internal alignment and process discipline.
