Our metal is used to create residential and commercial heating products that have been designed, engineered, and manufactured domestically. Headquartered in Lancaster, PA, our facilities employ nearly 300 people from our community. Every product that leaves our factory has been designed, engineered, and produced for exclusive use in North America. U.S. Boiler Company is a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc.

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team! This position is a 3rd shift opening and will supervise and coordinate union-hourly workers engaged in the manufacturing of parts or products, in addition to verifying conformance to quality standards. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and experienced in the manufacturing field. Supervisory experience preferred. 

This position is 3rd Shift and will primarily work out of our Lancaster Metal Manufacturing facility, but has the ability to work out of U.S. Boiler Company facilities when needed/required.   Our Company offers both upward and lateral growth within our organization and facilities allowing our employees to grow and develop their skills and talents to suit both their professional and personal needs as well as the organizations.

 The hours for this position are roughly 3rd SHIFT: Sunday, 10 PM – 6 AM, Monday – Thursday, 8:30 PM – 6 AM.  

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directly supervises up to 15 employees according to company policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage are
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Maintains time and production records
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials
  • Primary supervision responsibility for receiving and shipping functions of the plant

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties. Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
