Professions & Communities of Practice Support Manager

Salary: From £70,000 plus bonus & benefits

Contract type: 12 Months fixed term contract

Shift pattern: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Location : Hybrid / London office based EC2R 7HJ ​- 2 days per week plus travel to Bupa UK offices

Role Overview

As the Professions & Communities of Practice Support Lead, you will support the Professions to implement, evolve and embed the structures, frameworks, and pathways that grow professional capability across Technology. You will lead the creation and scaling of communities of practice, structured career pathways, skills frameworks, and learning journeys that enable teams and individuals to thrive in a modern, product‑centric and cloud‑enabled environment.

This role will be instrumental in supporting the TechVision and Grow Internal Talent programme (GRIT) ambitions by strengthening talent mobility, building future skills, and ensuring our people have clear pathways for growth, progression, reskilling and upskilling.
      
         

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Support the implementation of and continuously evolve capability frameworks across Technology Professions, aligned to professional standards, the Product Model, and strategic workforce needs

  • support the implementation of structured career pathways and role profiles that clarify progression

  • Implement and deliver targeted learning journeys, reskilling and upskilling programmes for priority roles, future skills and hard‑to‑hire areas

  • Partner with GRIT workstreams and Technology leadership to align capability development with organisational design, workforce planning and strategic priorities.

  • Support talent mobility by embedding transparent career architectures and capability expectations.

  • Shape and influence leadership capability frameworks in the professions, strengthening behavioural and technical excellence.

  • Provide guidance on the people impact of transformation, including role transitions, learning needs, and capability uplift within the Professions.

  • Coach professions leads to apply modern capability, performance and talent development principles

  • Identify capability gaps that pose risk to delivery, compliance or organisational readiness

  • Integrate workforce analytics, skills data and performance insights into capability planning and intervention design.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

  • Proven expertise in designing and embedding career pathways, capability frameworks and role profiles.

  • Track record of building and scaling Communities of Practice

  • Strong background in designing and delivering learning pathways, reskilling/upskilling programmes and professional development.

  • Experience working within complex, matrixed organisations across people, technology and transformation contexts.

  • Skilled in workforce analytics, skills assessment and data‑driven capability planning.

  • Strong stakeholder influence across senior leadership and HR functions.

  • Experience working in or alongside Agile, Product, Digital or Technology organisations.
