We make health happen
At Bupa, we’re here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives — and to make a better world. With no shareholders, our focus is on our customers and the care we deliver every day.
As an M&A Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our business. You’ll help us grow sustainably by supporting the identification, assessment and delivery of new opportunities — from acquisitions and divestments to joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
In this role, you’ll bring together financial insight, commercial thinking and a collaborative approach that supports teams across the market unit. Your work will help us invest in the right opportunities, strengthen our services, and ultimately improve the experience of the people who rely on us.
How you’ll help us make health happen
Support the development and implementation of an ongoing programme of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
Appraise new opportunities by preparing information memorandums, internal business cases and financial reviews.
Build, refine and stress‑test valuation models — including discounted cash flow (DCF), trading multiples and precedent transactions — using scenario and sensitivity analysis.
Assess key transaction metrics such as profitability, capital requirements and return on capital employed (ROCE).
Lead valuation workstreams on smaller transactions and partner closely with finance teams.
Review financial due‑diligence outputs and assess the impact on each transaction; in some cases supporting vendor or buy‑side financial due diligence.
Manage the day‑to‑day transaction process on smaller deals, including Q&A, analysis and input on commercial terms.
Deliver timely reporting, financial appraisals and project updates to support decision‑making.
Contribute to briefings and papers on valuation, risks and opportunities for senior leaders.
Carry out post‑acquisition and investment reviews to help us continuously improve.
Key skills and qualifications required for this role
Qualified accountant (either ACA or equivalent) would be beneficial
Commercial experience, ideally including M&A work in healthcare, insurance or a related sector
Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modelling and valuation techniques is required.
Experience carrying out financial due diligence, including assessing quality of earnings, net debt and working‑capital considerations is needed.
The ability to interpret complex information and translate it clearly and logically for a range of stakeholders
Confidence managing large datasets and presenting insights in a business‑friendly way.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to support and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to manage multiple projects and adapt in changing or ambiguous situations.
