Get to Know Your Team: 

  • BSA provides 24-hour paramedic care through our ambulance service, which responds to emergencies in Canyon and 825 square miles of Randall County. BSA EMS staffs two stations 24/7/365, one in northern Randall County and one in Canyon.

Responsibilities

  • The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with established protocols, BSA Health System Policies, and Department Guidelines.
  • Safely operates emergency vehicles in compliance with all laws, BSA Policies, and Department Guidelines at all times.
  • Accepts other tasks as assigned by the EMS Director.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.

  • Certification or licensure as an EMT-Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider completion.

  • Valid minimum Class C Texas Driver's License with restriction “A” permissible.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) completion within 80 days of employment.

  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) completion within 80 days of employment.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) completion within 80 days of employment.

  • Completion of the following Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A is required within 80 days of employment.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Field experience.

  • National Registry.

  • Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) completion.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) completion.

  • Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) completion.
