Job Description

BryceTech is currently looking for a Total Workforce Protection Subject Matter Expert. The Total Workforce Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and programmatic oversight for the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive workforce health, safety, and well-being initiatives. This role ensures organizational compliance with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Total Worker Health® (TWH) framework by integrating occupational safety, health promotion, and organizational policy to protect and advance the well-being of the total workforce. The SME serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, program managers, and external partners, translating evidence-based public health principles into actionable workforce protection strategies.

The person in this role will:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of total workforce protection programs aligned with NIOSH Total Worker Health® definitions and best practices.
  • Integrate occupational safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, mental health, and health promotion into unified workforce health strategies.
  • Advise leadership on emerging workforce health risks, trends, and mitigation strategies across diverse worker populations.
  • Ensure compliance with NIOSH guidance, OSHA regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local workforce health and safety standards.
  • Provide expert interpretation of occupational health data, surveillance findings, and risk assessments to inform policy and program decisions.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, guidance materials, and standard operating procedures related to workforce protection.
  • Design and oversee program evaluation frameworks to measure effectiveness, outcomes, and return on investment of workforce health initiatives.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including human resources, safety, medical, behavioral health, and leadership staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with external partners, including government agencies, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
  • Support workforce training and capacity-building efforts related to total workforce protection principles

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading or managing total workforce health or Total Worker Health® programs in alignment with NIOSH definitions and frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Sciences, or a related field OR a Master’s or Doctorate in Public Health (MPH, DrPH, PhD) or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in occupational health, workforce well-being, and integrated health and safety program design.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting federal agencies, government contractors, or large multi-site organizations.
  • Familiarity with workforce health surveillance systems, epidemiologic methods, and program evaluation techniques.
  • Professional certification(s) such as CIH, CSP, CHES, or equivalent.
  • Experience translating research and policy into operational workforce programs.
