Position Overview:

The Quality Inspector is a key member of the Quality team and will be involved in quality investigations, process improvement, and driving change throughout the Fort Wayne value stream. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting a certain area or cells throughout the production line. The inspector is responsible to inspect to the quality standards of the area they are working in And to enter the data into QC2 and shop floor. The inspector needs to be able to communicate well with all levels.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow and commit to meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety and quality requirements.
  • Provide timely inspection in assigned areas with feedback to area leaders.
  • Ensure all inspection are logged into QC2 and they are complete.
  • Ensure that Quality standards are being followed in area.
  • Ensure that all variable data for the area is collected and entered in QC2 or Shopfloor.
  • Preform Quality audits throughout the plant.
  • Become ABYC certified
  • Become greenbelt certified
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of past Quality experience
  • Direct experience and knowledge of how to solve problems at their root, specifically as is related to quality
  • Knowledge of various plant processes to identify the causes of problems with product quality as well as potential concerns during product launches
  • High School or equivalent
  • The ability to read Assembly prints and work instructions.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interact with a diverse group of people to create an environment that is equitable, inclusive, and cooperative
  • Have proficient computer skills MS Office, PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and processes.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.50 - $27, hourly.  The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. 

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
