This is a temporary employee position until June 30, 2027, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global R&D environment and to contribute to meaningful biomedical software solutions used by scientists worldwide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Java development for desktop application 
  • Full-stack development focusing on the pmod software – including test design, validation, UI/UX, initial documentation, use of the development tracking system
  • Tracks and fix software-related issues – including estimation of time to story completion, progress updates, recording of verification process
  • Participates actively in work reviews and development progress meetings
  • Independently carries out research and investigation to support development, including prototyping
  • Accumulates experience to become specialist in relevant technologies
  • Assists colleagues in providing application and technical support to end users of the software, including occasional direct interaction with end users (2nd level customer technical support)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Very good skills in JAVA.
  • Experience with GIT version control.
  • Experience with modern issue tracking systems and CI/CD tools for build automation and tests.
  • Basic skills in JAVA UI technologies like Swing, AWT, JavaFX
  • Basic skills and strong interest in 2D/3D image visualization

Of advantage:

  • Basic knowledge on C/C++
  • Basic knowledge on UI creation in Qt/QML
  • Basic knowledge on Machine-/Deep Learning
  • Basic knowledge on Python
  • Numerical methods, understanding of numerical algorithms
  • background in biomedical imaging is welcome
