About this role

Connectivity includes the creation of mobile applications and the integration of the digital experience with BRP recreational vehicles, as well as the intelligent use of collected data. Your role will be to propose innovative concepts that provide added value for our customers, dealers, and internal teams. Your mission: ensure the vision, consistency, and technical excellence of mobile, embedded, and backend development teams across the regions.

As the Technologies Department Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical and operational excellence of the mobile, embedded, and backend development teams within the Connectivity and Application Development department. Join us to drive the technological vision and ensure the performance of our mobile and backend development teams. This key role defines the technological vision, standards, processes, and best practices to guarantee quality deliverables and support strategic projects.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Lead and supervise three teams: two in mobile development (iOS/Android) and one in backend development.
  • Define and maintain the medium- and long-term technological vision for the Connectivity and Mobile domain.
  • Ensure consistency in development, integration, and delivery practices among teams.
  • Establish and evolve work processes, CI/CD pipelines, technical documentation, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, R&D, and Product teams to ensure the scalability, performance, and compliance of solutions.
  • Support architecture initiatives and key decisions (technology stack, frameworks, API integration, etc.).
  • Supervise technical team leaders and promote the development of their skills.
  • Contribute actively to strategic projects and major technical audits.
  • Establish and monitor performance and quality KPIs.

 

THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development (mobile and/or backend), including 5+ years in technical team management. 
  • Excellent knowledge of native mobile development (Kotlin, Swift) or cross-platform languages (Kotlin Multiplatform).
  • Experience with Bluetooth and WiFi protocols; databases (MySQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB), API protocols (REST & GraphQL), and Azure Cloud services. 
  • Solid understanding of cloud environments, CI/CD, monitoring tools, IoT technologies, application security, and DevOps practices.
  • An excellent ability to collaborate with internal technical and non-technical partners.
  • Structured, rigorous leadership focused on continuous improvement in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with coordinating globally distributed teams.
  • The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec or who are unilingual English speakers on a daily basis. Knowledge of Portuguese is an asset.
