General Description
General Summary of Duties: Provides shipping and receiving to support projects, maintains inventory control, operate warehouse equipment, and participate in warehouse maintenance and cleaning. Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Warehouse Supervisor. Performs other duties and activities as directed. The skills for this position are acquired through warehousing environment typically with 0-2 years’ experience.
QUALIFICATIONS · High School diploma or equivalent. • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards. · Monitor work progression to ensure compliance to codes & standards. • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor. · To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· 0-2 years’ experience working in an industrial warehouse type setting
· Communication Skills – Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then can perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given.

Specific Job Description • Receives, stores, issues material and supplies to project sites.
· Possesses general computer skills (i.e. email, WORD, Excel programs), good verbal communications skills, including phone, radio, and plant intercom systems.
· Using computer, enters shipping/receiving data, label preparation.
· Loads and unloads supplies material and equipment, places incoming supplies on shelves or in assigned areas, ability to climb ladders to stock shelves, keep warehouse facility in an orderly and safe fashion.
· Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
· Opens containers using various hand tools.
· Loads materials onto pallets strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
· Transport materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or another device.
· Records numbers of units of materials moved or handled
· Fabricate and attaches labels/tags to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
· Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. · Ability to perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, reach with arms, acsend/descend stairs, ladders, fixed ladders, walkways, walk, stand, stoop for long periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkard positions, sit, climb, balance, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. two persons.
· Ability to work extended hours in addition to normal shift in all weather and temperature extremes. • Vision adequate to perform all required tasks. • Ability to work over 6 feet above the ground; must not be afraid of heights. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those of which an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. • Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks. • Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and varying types of smells • Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated work areas, and outside weather conditions. • Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area. |
