Maintenance Scheduler

The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in ensuring the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maximize asset performance. They are responsible for developing maintenance plans, scheduling work orders, and coordinating resources to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability principles, and asset management concepts.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and scheduling software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience in SAP and P6
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling (e.g., Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional - CMRP) (preferred).
  • Training or certification in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) (preferred).

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning:

  • Collaborate with maintenance managers, engineers, and technicians to develop comprehensive maintenance plans based on equipment requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and operational needs.
  • Review equipment histories, maintenance records, and performance data to identify recurring issues and develop proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Determine the scope of maintenance work, including required resources, materials, and tools.

Work Order Management:

  • Create and prioritize work orders for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to assign tasks, provide necessary instructions, and clarify requirements.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule to optimize resource utilization and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities during planned downtime periods to minimize production disruptions.
  • Communicate maintenance schedules and updates to relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness and alignment.

Resource Allocation:

  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure availability of required parts, materials, and equipment for scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and tools, to support maintenance work orders according to priority and urgency.
  • Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, schedules, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
  • Generate reports on maintenance performance, including key metrics such as equipment uptime, maintenance backlog, and work order completion rates.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
