General Description

 Must have 5 years Industrial Mechanical maintenance experience or NCCER certified. NCCER certified preferred. 

 

Must pass pre-emloyment background and physical.

 

- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, hammers, welding equipment, micrometers and laser alignment tools.

- Perform routine preventative maintenance such as checking and changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.

- Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.

- Welds broken equipment, parts, pipe and structural steel.

- Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.

- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.

- Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, compressors, valves, and piping that is associated with it.

- Responsible for changing and installing new equipment such as pumps, gearboxes and valves.

- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties as required.

Specific Job Description

•  Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

·      Read and understand equipment schematic drawings along with associated plans and specifications.

•  Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.

·         Monitor work progression to ensure compliance to codes & standards.

• Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.

Skills/Qualifications:

·   High School Diploma or GED

 

·   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• Communication Skills – Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then can perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, reach with arms, acsend/descend stairs, ladders, fixed ladders, walkways, walk, stand, stoop for long periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkard positions, sit, climb, balance, and be able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. two persons.

•  Ability to work extended hours in addition to normal shift in all weather and temperature extremes.

•  Vision adequate to perform all required tasks.

• Ability to work over 6 feet above the ground; must not be afraid of heights.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those of which an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks.

• Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and varying types of smells

• Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated work areas, and outside weather conditions.

• Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area.   

 

 

Work Schedule

 

The work schedule is 4/10-hour days. Note: At times, additional work hours & schedules will exist at the request of the client to meet specific work schedules support Maintenance, Capital, and Production work activities.  Scheduled and unscheduled outages may require long hours.
