The Electrician Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising electrical personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities in an industrial environment. This role coordinates daily work, enforces safety standards, and ensures electrical systems meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Supervise and direct electricians and electrical apprentices
Plan, schedule, and assign daily electrical work activities
Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, NFPA, and company safety policies
Enforce lockout/tagout, arc flash, and electrical safety procedures
Review electrical drawings, schematics, and job plans
Troubleshoot electrical systems including power distribution, motors, MCCs, VFDs, and control panels
Coordinate electrical work with operations, maintenance, and project management
Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and code compliance
Manage electrical materials, tools, and equipment
Support plant startups, shutdowns, and outages
Train, mentor, and evaluate electrical personnel
Document work activities, permits, and inspections
Coordinate contractor electrical work and ensure site safety compliance
High school diploma or GED
Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience
5+ years of industrial electrical experience
2+ years of supervisory or lead electrician experience
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safety standards
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience in chemical, refinery, manufacturing, or power plant environments
Knowledge of hazardous area classifications (Class I, Division 1 & 2)
Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training
Experience supervising union electrical crews (if applicable)
Arc flash and medium-voltage experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
Ability to stand, walk, and work in industrial environments
Ability to wear required PPE including FR clothing and electrical safety gear
Industrial plant or job site
Exposure to noise, heat, chemicals, and outdoor conditions
Overtime, on-call, and outage work as required
