SUMMARY:
The Data Governance Program Manager leads the development and execution of a system-wide data governance strategy that ensures data is accurate, accessible, and trusted for decision-making.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Governance Strategy & Execution
Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that supports clinical, operational, and business domains. Ensure alignment with Lifespan’s strategic priorities and uphold the value of Excellence in all data practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the data-related governing bodies, committees, and teams. Partner with operational leaders to translate strategic recommendations into sustained action. Foster a culture of Respect and shared ownership across departments.
Establish governance policies that support regulatory compliance, data security, and ethical data use. Promote Accountability by ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.
Data Stewardship & Quality Assurance
Lead efforts to resolve data quality issues and promote consistent definitions across systems. Encourage Compassion in data stewardship by prioritizing patient-centered outcomes and equitable data practices.
Training & Enablement
Develop training programs to build data literacy and empower staff. Support a learning culture that reflects Excellence and Respect for diverse perspectives.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Define and track KPIs for governance effectiveness. Provide transparent reporting to leadership and stakeholders, reinforcing Accountability and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Public Health, or related field; Master’s preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or analytics
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex data environments.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain up-to-date procedure manuals, policies, and training materials.
• Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Applied Data Governance Certification (Dataversity or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process improvement certification preferred
