About this role

Overview

As a Clinical Application Analyst within the Population Health Department of our large health system, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical applications related to ambulatory care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the effective utilization of technology to improve patient outcomes, enhance care coordination, and drive population health initiatives.

Responsibilities

1.                 Application Implementation and Optimization:

o        Participate in the implementation and optimization of clinical applications specific to ambulatory care settings, including electronic health records (EHR), population health management tools, and related software solutions to improve patient care.

o        Conduct user training sessions and develop educational materials to promote efficient and effective use of clinical applications among staff.

2.                  Data Analysis and Reporting:

o        Utilize data analytics tools to extract, analyze, and interpret clinical data from ambulatory care applications, providing insights into patient populations, disease trends, quality metrics, and clinical operations.

o        Leverage predictive analytics to propose changes to clinical workflows.

o        Generate and distribute regular reports and dashboards to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and opportunities for improvement in population health management.

3.                  Quality Assurance/Improvement and Compliance:

o        Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure the integrity of clinical data within ambulatory care applications, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

o        Assign in the design, data collection, and implementation of quality improvement projects and research studies

o        Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.

4.                  Clinical Workflow Optimization:

o        Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to evaluate and streamline ambulatory care workflows, leveraging technology to enhance care coordination, patient engagement, and provider efficiency.

o        Identify areas for workflow improvement and recommend process redesigns or system enhancements to optimize clinical outcomes and user experience.

5.                  Project Management and Support:

o        Manage projects related to the implementation, upgrade, or enhancement of clinical applications within the ambulatory care setting, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

o        Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving issues related to system functionality, data integrity, and usability in a timely manner.

Qualifications

 

              Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, healthcare administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical informatics, with a focus on ambulatory care settings and population health management.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, population health management tools, and healthcare analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards
  • Certification in relevant healthcare IT or informatics specialties preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, required.

A new 33-bed Medical-Surgical Unit at the Concourse Hospital Division and 20-bed Adult Psychiatric Unit at the Fulton Hospital Division will increase inpatient capacity to 912 beds, further reinforcing BronxCare’s ability to address the significant needs of the Bronx community. BronxCare is also modernizing its Inpatient Maternity and Labor and Delivery Units, as well as its Women’s Health Center and Neurology Suite, to improve the patient experience. Additionally, BronxCare’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center Practice at 174th Street will be opening.
