Provides day-to-day technical support to maintain a smooth running GL Accounting Team. The team handles general accounting for a specific corporation or group of corporations including general ledger account analysis, preparation of financial statements, budgets, audit work papers, and other accounting duties assigned.
Associate degree in Accounting, or equivalent in accounting experience, and 2-3 years of experience required.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and basic to intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel and Word).
• Must have good math skills as well as good organizational and communications skills, written and verbal.
GL Accounting Assistant:
• Initiates transfer of funds to cover payments as needed.
• Performs various reconciliations.
• Responsible for retrieving daily and monthly statements.
• Record daily bank activity to the General Ledger.
• Record procurement card activity monthly to the General Ledger.
• Process non-patient billing payments in subsidiary billing systems.
• Unclaimed Property [collects, works, and reports] on an annual basis.
• Maintains inventory of Finance boxes in storage location.
• Assist Accountant with monthly journal entries as needed.
• May provide assistance to Management Systems or General Ledger personnel as required.
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
