Licensed Therapist - Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team **LCSW/LCSWA, LCMHC/LCMHCA, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist)

We are actively hiring for a licensed Therapist or Counselor to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Gastonia, NC. This role delivers mental and behavioral health services to clients in the community. This role serves clients and requires travel in Gaston, Cleveland, and Lincoln counties. We are only hiring for this location at this time.

Job Description:

The Licensed Mental Health Clinician serves as a team member supporting individuals with Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse issues.  They coordinate and monitor the array of services and support identified in each person’s Treatment Plan.

Job Type: This is a full-time position working in the community (this is not a remote position).   

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with regular travel to meet with clients in the Gastonia, NC area (with mileage reimbursement). This role serves clients in Gaston, Cleveland, and Lincoln counties.

Job Duties:   

• Facilitating relationships and serving as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies and the community  
• Minimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the recipient’s daily living and personal development, providing supportive counseling.  
• Performing Case Management functions of linking and arranging for services and referrals  
• Working closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and providing feedback, standardizing procedures and expediting Treatment Plan implementation.  
• Ensuring that all initial authorization and reauthorizations for services occur in a timely fashion.
• Monitoring utilization of service to ensure that it is effective, appropriate, and within the limits set forth in both rule, Treatment Plan, and the service authorization.  

Job Requirements:      

• Graduate degree in Counseling or a related field  
• General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina  
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing treatment plans, conducting effective group therapy, and providing mental health diagnoses.  
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation  
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.  
• Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holds.  
• Prior experience using an Electronic Medical Records preferred.
