About this role
Overview
A busy family is looking for a long-term, live-out housekeeper for a recently renovated Upper East Side home. This is a full-time Monday through Friday role, 9am-5pm or, even better, a Monday through Saturday role with the 40 hours spread over the 6 days. Ideally the candidate will start ASAP, although the most important thing is that the family find a wonderful, experienced, and warm housekeeper who is up to the role.
Responsibilities
- All general cleaning, to include mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc
- Dealing with contractors and vendors, tracking their visits and overseeing work
- Regular deep cleaning
- Laundry and ironing
- General organising and tidying
- Wardrobe management
- Occasional errands
- Some care for the family's two cats
- The family enjoy entertaining so flexibility around extra hours and helping with the preparation for guests would also be welcome
- Some meal prep and cooking (if possible!)
- Prior experience caring for fine furnishings, fabrics, and artwork is preferred. The family enjoy entertaining, so flexibility around extra hours and helping with the preparation for guests would also be welcome.
Qualifications
- Prior experience caring for fine furnishings, fabrics, and artwork is preferred
- Experience working as a team would be beneficial
- A confident cook would be a bonus but isn't essential
- The home has both external and internal gardens so 'green fingers' and an interest would be helpful
Requirements
- A warm, positive person who brings a 'can-do' approach to the role
- A good level of fitness, as the home has 6 storys and the candidate will need to be comfortable navigating staircases
- Organised and meticulous with an eye for detail
- Dedicated and loyal character with a professional demeanour
- Open to some domestic travel, mostly during the Summer months (when the position may become live-in)
- Previous executive housekeeper experience
Salary and Benefits
- From $40/hr, DOE
