Overview
A thoughtful, hands-on mother is seeking a part-time mother’s helper to support her at home as she prepares to welcome her third child. Mom is home full time with the 1 year old. This role is designed to feel like a true tag-team partnership. The ideal candidate will be someone who can step in and out naturally, observe what’s needed, and provide steady, supportive help during the most demanding parts of the day.
The family’s oldest child is 3 years old and attends French immersion school full day. The afternoons and evenings are where support is most needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys children, takes pride in their work, and brings a calm, grounded presence into the home.
This is a growth-oriented role that will evolve as the pregnancy progresses and as the family’s needs change once they welcome their third child. The family is looking for someone who wants to build familiarity now and grow alongside them.The family is guaranteeing 20 hours a week. The ideal schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday 12pm - 6pm and Thursday 2pm - 10pm. The family is flexible on start date and will wait for the right fit.
Responsibilities
Support mom during after-school hours, including school pickup when needed.
- Care for 1 year old while mom attends appointments.
Assist with snack time, play time, and transitions into the evening routine.
Partner with mom during dinner preparation, serving, and cleanup.
Take initiative with general tidying and maintaining a calm, orderly home environment.
Complete weekly linen laundry using professional washer and dryers located in the building.
Assist with meal prep, snacks, and simple cooking as the pregnancy progresses.
Help gather groceries from a nearby market (one block away).
Provide calm, playful engagement with the children while respecting established boundaries.
Step in and out intuitively, knowing when to lead and when to support.
Assist with bedtime routines as needed (brush teeth, pajamas, song, wind-down).
Qualifications
Enjoys working closely with a stay-at-home parent in a collaborative, supportive role.
Calm, focused, and observant, with a quieter, grounded energy.
Takes pride in quality work and leads through actions rather than direction.
Naturally adaptable with a strong sense of self and good boundaries.
Genuinely enjoys children and engages in playful, age-appropriate ways.
Comfortable cooking, handling laundry, and helping maintain household routines.
Models healthy habits and a thoughtful, steady presence.
Comfortable asking questions and communicating clearly and kindly.
- Infant experience.
- French speaking is a plus.
Requirements
Comfortable working in a home where the parent is present full time.
Reliable, punctual, and respectful of household routines and preferences.
Comfortable with light cooking, laundry, and general household support.
US passport, Green Card or EAC
