Position Overview
A refined and detail-oriented household is seeking an experienced Formal Housekeeper to support the day-to-day care of a 3,500 sq. ft. condominium. The principal is an elderly woman with an active lifestyle who values professionalism, discretion, and high standards. This role is best suited for a seasoned housekeeper who can step in confidently with minimal direction and take pride in maintaining an impeccably run home.
Responsibilities
- Full-charge housekeeping, including detailed cleaning and upkeep of all living spaces
- Expert care of fine finishes, furnishings, and delicate surfaces
- Polishing and proper care of silverware and specialty household items
- Organization of closets, cabinets, and household storage
- Laundry and ironing, including proper garment care
- Light cooking and meal preparation (a plus, not required)
- Working closely and respectfully with the principal to maintain household preferences
- Preparing the home for entertaining and assisting as needed during hosted events
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in a formal private household
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards without hands-on training
- Comfortable wearing a uniform while on duty
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, professional demeanor
- Clear, confident English communication skills (important to ensure effective day-to-day communication)
- German language skills are a plus, but not required
- Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy
- Physically able to perform the duties of a hands-on housekeeping role
Salary and Benefits
$40–$50 per hour (DOE
