About this role
Overview
A family on the Upper East Side, NYC, is seeking a full-time, live-in nanny for their twin two-year-old toddlers. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7am-7pm, with flexibility. The schedule may shift during the summer to include days off midweek. During the school year, the days will be lighter as the children will be in school from 9am-1pm weekdays. This position is hiring immediately. Only local applicants should apply, as this position is not looking to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Passion for engaging with young children
- Enjoying lively activities such as playing games, running around, going to the park, reading books, and participating in crafts is essential.
- Creating and maintaining children's daily schedule
- Organize the nursery
- Children's laundry
- Preparing healthy snacks/meals
- Managing bathtime
- Overseeing a calming bedtime routine
- Create a fun and nurturing environment that supports the development
- Traveling as needed. Summer in the Hamptons, up to 3 times a year of international travel, and 2 weeks of domestic vacation travel
- The candidate would have a private bedroom and bathroom in the apartment (someone else would sleep in the bedroom one weekend night per week)
Qualifications
- Driving is a plus!
- Swimming is a plus!
Requirements
- Legal to work in the US
- Fully vaccinated
- Driving is a plus!
Must have longevity in your previous roles to be considered
- Must be living locally and familiar with NYC
- Experience with twins or children very close in age
- Ability to multitask and engage in outgoing, high-energy activities and play
- Background in early education is a plus.
- Prior twin experience or siblings close in age
- Experience caring for multiple children simultaneously.
- Must be comfortable with dogs, although no pet care is required! (The family has a large, sweet dog (German Shorthaired Pointe/ Husky Mix)
