Overview
A warm and caring family living in Mendham, New Jersey is seeking a career nanny to help care for their 4 children aged 2-years, 4 years, 5 years, and 10 years old. This is a live-in role, but the family would consider a live-out candidate if they live close by. The schedule is to be confirmed but either Friday through Monday, 7am-7pm, or Thursday through Sunday 7am-7pm and finish once the children have left for school on Monday morning. The nanny will be provided with private staff live-in quarters on the lower level of the home with a private bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette.
Mom is around during the day and is very involved in the children's lives, having regular interaction, so the nanny should be comfortable with this set up and be able to work as a team. The family has a full-time housekeeper who takes care of all household duties, including the children's areas but the nanny should be willing to pitch in as and when needed. The family own a dog, but he will not be the responsibility of the nanny.
The three older children attend school full-time, meaning the youngest child would be the main focus of care during term time.
Responsibilities
- The family have a weekend chef but on occasion the nanny may be required to cook for the children
- Ensure the children are on a good schedule and keep to a routine
- The three older children attend school and the nanny would be responsible for driving them there and collecting
- Research classes and activities in the area for the youngest child to attend
- Help with homework when required
- Organize outings to enrich and encourage the children's learning, ensuring they reach their educational milestones
- The candidate should be confident using various methods of communication to ensure the parents are kept up to date
Qualifications
- Have a pitch in attitude
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
- Have previous experience working in a home with HNW families
- A candidate who is active, energetic, flexible, enthusiastic, and reliable
- The candidate should be warm and playful but also able to set boundaries with the children
- Be able to encourage the children to learn life skills
Requirements
- The family have homes in other locations within the US and would like the nanny to travel with them when on vacation; typically a week to 10 days.
- Fluent English speaking, with excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Have a firm but fair approach when caring for the children
- Must have a travel ready passport for both domestic and international travel - the family travel by either plane or boat
- Driver with a clean licence
- Confident swimmer
- The candidate must have recent previous experience working with multiple children of a similar age

What you'll do
- The nanny will care for four children, primarily focusing on the youngest during school hours, and will be responsible for driving the older children to and from school. Additional duties include organizing educational activities, helping with homework, and maintaining a routine for the children.
