Overview
A private family on the Upper East Side is seeking a mature, professional, and active full-time nanny for their 5.5-year-old daughter. Mom is pregnant and due in February. The candidate should be capable of taking care of two children, although that will rarely be the case. This role is designed for a dedicated career nanny who is looking for stability, longevity, and a structured environment. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 6:30/7am to 6:30pm. The family is open to a 10-hour shift as well, and there is an opportunity to work additional days/hours. Local candidates, please
Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- All aspects of full-charge childcare with a strong emphasis on safety, attentiveness, and structure
- Adherence to parental preferences and routines
- Child-related housekeeping, laundry, toy sanitation, and organization
- Provide engaging hands-on childcare with no personal phone use while on duty
- Meal planning and prep, including snacks
- Planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, playdates, and outings
- Support developmental milestones
- Travel planning prep
- Pack/unpack
- Travel domestically and internationally
- Support language development
Qualifications
- Emotionally intelligent
- Dedicated, reliable, and trustworthy
- Truly passionate about children and their well-being
- Professional and engaging
- Discreet and trustworthy
- Proactive and resourceful
- Comfortable working in a closely involved household
- Ability to speak a second language would be a plus – Strong command of the English language required
Requirements
- Collaborative and helpful
- CPR certified
- Ability to easily go up and down stairs
- College degree preferred
- Flexibility with the schedule
- Prior experience in a similar role with infants and school-aged children
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Up-to-date vaccinations, Tdap, flu
- Legal to work in the U.S.
Salary and Benefits
- $40+ per hour, DOE
