Position Summary

 

Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) seeks an innovative, results-oriented leader to serve as the Pumitamig Medical Product Lead, Global Medical Oncology. This critical role leads the Global Medical vertical for Pumitamig, a single-asset, mission-focused team designed to accelerate clinical evidence generation, recruitment, education, and external advocacy for international markets in one of the most competitive therapeutic areas in BMS history. The MPL will drive a unified strategy, high-velocity execution, and end-to-end ownership across all Global Oncology, ensuring best-in-class medical engagement for Pumitamig in this critical pre-launch phase. The role will report to the VP, Global DAH. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategy & Direction 

In close collaboration with the alliance, this role is accountable for: 

  • Develop and execute a unified strategy for Pumitamig, ensuring speed, clarity, and relentless focus on program goals – in full alignment with the global & US strategy 

  • Lead and manage the dedicated medical Pumitamig teams at Global and US level, eliminating fragmentation and aligning messaging, evidence, and education across enterprise 

  • Drive rapid decision-making and execution, removing delays inherent in traditional matrix models. 

 

Operational Leadership & Accountability 

  • Ensure direct accountability at international, regional, and field levels, enabling real-time progress tracking and immediate intervention.  

  • Optimize trial execution and site engagement across diverse markets in close collaboration with RCO & International Pumitamig Lead.  

  • Monitor competitor activities and proactively adapt strategies to maintain leadership.  

  • Oversee resource allocation, budget management, and strategic prioritization to maximize efficiency and impact.  

  • Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools for continuous improvement. 

Scientific Advocacy & External Impact 

  • Support building and empower a high-performing, dedicated team of regional Pumitamig leads and dedicated MSLs, fostering deep scientific advocacy and accelerating site activation, recruitment, and medical education.  

  • Shape external perception and scientific leadership, leveraging early signal detection and rapid course correction. 

Cross-functional collaboration  

  • Partner with the Global Medical, Development, Commercial, Market Access, and Patient Advocacy teams to ensure pre-launch excellence and maximize portfolio value.  

  • Represent Pumitamig in key stakeholder & partnership meetings, driving cross-functional alignment and enterprise initiatives. 

 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Advanced degree in medicine, science, or related field (MD, PhD, PharmD; MD preferred). 

  • 15+ years of medical affairs, development, or commercial experience, with a strong track record in international markets.  

  • Pharmaceutical experience in Solid tumors is a must have (thoracic, breast and GI7GI cancers 

  • Proven expertise in leading large, geographically distributed teams and driving high performance in competitive environments. 

  • Deep understanding of regulatory, healthcare, and cultural diversity across international markets. 

  • Demonstrated ability to execute strategies that deliver measurable business and patient outcomes. 

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to successfully and effectively collaborate and work across boundaries (e.g. R&D, disease mgt., marketing, external development) and building strong external relationships. 

  • Outstanding project management capabilities and experience in change management, leading teams through market or organizational transformation 

  • Ability to provide a strong voice to the global team and success in effectively communicating and influencing decisions with senior leadership and matrix team.

Compensation Overview:

$254,530 - $308,434

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown. 

Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
