About our school 
St Eugene College is a Catholic co-educational Prep-12 school located in Burpengary, with an enrolment of over 1500 students and a staff of approximately 150. Summary

Provide effective and efficient services across the Science Department, developing and overseeing a variety of tasks while offering advice, training, and support.

 

  • Location: St Eugene College - Burpengary (S)
  • Start date:  Commencing ASAP 
  • Work hours: 32.00 hours per week
  • Salary: School Officer Level 4 - $36.98/hour + super (School Salary Scale)
  • Status: Term Time Fixed Term until 8th of March 2026 (with the possibility of extension)

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and/or administering processes and procedures, and responding to enquires across the Science Department
  • Reviewing and developing local systems and providing recommendations for enhancement
  • Preparing and maintaining science practicums/experiments consistent with the science curriculum
  • Monitoring resources within the Science Department, including the maintenance/storage of equipment, cleaning and disposal and WHS obligations
  • Supervising and training support staff as required.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Process and procedure development and administration
  • System review and enhancement, identifying areas for improvement
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining science experiments and practicals that align with the curriculum, ensuring safe and effective learning environments
  • Resource management and WHS compliance
  • Staff supervision and training
  • Certificate in science or related field
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
