About our team 
Our School Performance Cluster Partner Team collaborates within and across BCE to provide specialised, multi-disciplinary support to schools. Our goal is to enhance student learning outcomes through informed decisions and sustainable processes. We offer differentiated support and advice in learning and pedagogy, literacy, numeracy, technologies, inclusive education, engagement, and student wellbeing, with focus on compliance, improvement, and excellence in each school context. 

Summary

Showcase your ability as the senior advisor, driving organisational change through process improvements. This is an on-the-ground role where you’ll be out supporting school staff and actively making a difference in BCE schools in the Brisbane and Bayside region. You’ll lead initiatives to enhance student mental health, wellbeing, and engagement, provide expert advice to school leaders and wellbeing teams, and deliver high-quality professional supervision—ensuring effective responses to wellbeing challenges and equitable outcomes for all students. This position will focus on providing support to our Secondary Colleges and Prep to Year 12 Schools. 

 

  • Location: BCE Office - Woolloongabba & Brisbane and Bayside area schools (Travel may be required outside these areas)
  • Work hours: Full-time | Flexible working arrangements available 
  • Salary: $137,560 - $152,836 plus super 
  • Status: Fixed Term | 12 months | February – December 2026

About the opportunity

In this position you will: 

  • Provide strategic and expert advice to inform policy, influence direction, and improve practices in student wellbeing, engagement, positive behaviour support, and mental health using evidence-informed approaches
  • Support schools in planning and coordinating responses to critical incidents, ensuring staff are supported in managing secondary traumatic stress
  • Analyse school data within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) to address complex and strategic issues, making recommendations to positively impact outcomes
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve organisational performance regarding student wellbeing, mental health, and behaviour
  • Oversee and support the effective use of BCE enterprise systems (e.g., Engage Student Support System)
  • Build and maintain relationships to share professional knowledge and expertise in school guidance and counselling services
  • Consult with relevant BCE staff to provide accurate and timely advice to schools on complex matters
  • Deliver individual and group professional supervision and support for Guidance Counsellors, ensuring high standards of professional practice
  • Build capability within and across business areas for Guidance Counsellors and support teams, including training, risk assessment, and safety planning

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Expertise in student wellbeing, mental health, and positive behaviour support
  • Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes
  • Analytical in your approach to problem solving
  • Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance
  • Experience in providing professional supervision and support to Guidance Counsellors
  • Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects you have led
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Full registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (preference for dual registration)
