About our team 
The Learning, Teaching and Curriculum team plays a pivotal role in advancing educational excellence within Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE). The team leverages data and research-informed insights to provide policy and guiding direction to support schools in nurturing student learning and wellbeing. Through advice, resourcing, and professional learning, the team enables schools to engage in action and agency towards excellence and equity for all learners, whilst maintaining legislative and system learning and teaching requirements. 

Summary

The Senior Education Advisor – Middle Years plays a key strategic role in strengthening Years 7–9 learning by providing expert advice, professional learning, and evidence‑informed guidance to support high‑quality curriculum delivery, student engagement, and effective pedagogical practice. In this position, you will work across schools and cross‑functional teams to analyse data, shape educational direction, lead system and school‑level initiatives, and develop resources that build capability and consistency in Middle Years approaches. You will also partner closely with leaders and teachers to identify needs, implement sustainable practices, and influence improved outcomes for Middle Years learners across the BCE system.

About the opportunity

In this position you will: 

  • Provide strategic advice and lead projects that shape policy, organisational practices, and system direction in Middle Years education.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver strategic initiatives across BCE schools.
  • Analyse school and system data to influence decision‑making and provide recommendations at system, school, and year‑level.
  • Develop and deliver professional learning, resources, and capability‑building initiatives for leaders and teachers.
  • Prepare specialised reports, research summaries, and compliance documentation.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to share expertise and support improved learning outcomes.
  • Partner with school leadership teams and BCEO staff to implement effective Middle Years practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of Middle Years programs on student engagement, wellbeing, achievement, and transitions.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes.  
  • Strong knowledge of Middle Years curriculum, pedagogy, and learner needs.
  • Experience leading initiatives, developing resources, and building capability across multiple school contexts.
  • Advanced data‑analysis capability with the ability to challenge assumptions and inform strategy
  • Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance.  
  • Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects you have led.  
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty.  
  • A relevant Education degree (postgraduate qualifications desirable).  

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Full registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
