  • Work hours: 38.00 hours per week (Part time hours negotible)
  • Salary: School Services Staff Level 2 - $32.50/hour + super
  • Status: Term Time Fixed Term

About the opportunity

Part-time and full-time applicants will be considered. Flexible rostering available around university schedule/other commitments. Full time hours could be shared across two successful applicants if required.

 

In this position you will be responsible for: 

  • Assisting in the maintenance of playing surfaces, including setting up of greens, top dressing, fertilising under supervision, seeding, turfing, coring, and sprigging 
  • Assisting in the preparation of ovals for sporting events and carnivals 
  • Safely operate and maintain small machinery and plant, as required, considering the risk to self and others 
  • Assisting in the equipment and plant maintenance repairs including carrying out tasks allotted under the grounds and gardens maintenance plan 
  • Assisting in the ordering and purchase of materials. 

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   

  • Knowledge of maintaining playing surfaces, including fertilising, seeding, and turfing 
  • Ability to assist in preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals 
  • Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery, ensuring safety for all   
  • Experience in equipment and plant maintenance, following the grounds maintenance plan   
  • Ability to assist in ordering and purchasing materials for maintenance tasks 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship 
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic. 

 

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
