In this role, the Dental Assistant II supports dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures, patient preparation, and clinical operations within a general dental practice. Key Responsibilities:
· Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures in a general dental practice setting
· Prepare patients, instruments, materials, and equipment for dental procedures
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment through proper sterilization and equipment maintenance
· Accurately document patient information, treatments, and clinical notes in patient records
· Support patient comfort by providing compassionate, attentive, and respectful care
· Manage and maintain dental supplies, materials, and inventory levels
· Identify and communicate patient medical or social concerns as appropriate
· Follow established dental standards and guidelines set forth by the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Board, and the National Network of Oral Health Access
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· High school diploma preferred, but not required
· Current CPR certification required
· Previous dental assisting experience preferred, but not required
Additional Qualifications:
· Ability and willingness to learn and expand professional skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients and team members
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
· Ability to motivate and engage patients effectively
· Ability to prepare and maintain charts, records, logs, and reports
· Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
· Must successfully complete background checks, including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint screenings
· Must provide evidence of being free from infectious or contagious diseases, including TB, prior to employment and annually thereafter
Physical Requirements:
· Perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently
· Engage in repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for clinical tasks and documentation
· Sit for extended periods with occasional walking or standing during the workday
