Position Summary
The Design System Product Owner is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and governance of the design system, ensuring alignment with company objectives and consistent implementation across teams. This role serves as a leader and advocate for the system, managing its roadmap, maintaining quality standards, and fostering collaboration among design, engineering, and product teams. It combines product management expertise with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Vision & Strategy: Define the long-term vision for the design system and align it with business goals.
- Governance: Establish and maintain rules and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across products.
- Roadmap Management: Prioritize and manage the design system roadmap, including new features and updates.
- Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate effective communication between design, engineering, and product teams.
- Adoption & Training: Promote system adoption and provide training and support to users.
- Feedback Collection: Gather user feedback to identify improvements and ensure system relevance.
- Accessibility & Inclusion: Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- System Maintenance: Maintain and evolve documentation, code, and design assets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience:
- Essential: Hands-on experience with design systems and understanding of both development and design aspects.
- Desired: Experience working with large-scale or atomized design systems across global or multi-regional contexts.
- Technical Skills:
- Figma (Advanced), Storybook (Intermediate), Git (Intermediate).
- Languages: Fluent in English.
