About this role

General Summary:
Supervision of defendants placed on indirect community supervision.  

This position is a full-time position. Forty hours per week.

Essential Duties:
Monitors compliance with conditions, including collection of offender fees, and notifies the Court when a defendant is not in compliance.  Maintains service to the Courts by preparing clear, unbiased, and comprehensive reports and documents in a timely manner. Ensures presence in court and intake. Maintains positive working relationships with the departmental staff, defendants, and employees of other agencies. Keeps current on legal issues and the laws. Carries out other duties and functions as may be assigned by the Director or designee.  Serves at the will of the Director.

Other Duties as assigned.

Education   
Required: 4 year college degree.  Knowledge of computers and standard office practices and procedures.  
Preferred: Bilingual.

Preferred: Internship with a CSCD or two years of prior probation experience is desired.

Physical Demands   
Typical: All jobs in this Department require at a minimum: prolonged periods of sitting; movement from one part of the building to another.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities   
Typical: Ability to communicate and understand verbal communication; ability to visually observe offenders; ability to read and communicate the written word; ability to make decisions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, busy environment; availability for work; comprehension of basic bookkeeping principles; and, ability to operate basic office equipment.  Employees must have adequate typing skills.

Employees are expected to routinely demonstrate integrity and a positive work ethic.  We subscribe to a Code of Ethics that must be followed, along with standardized policies and procedures, as well as directives from the Department Director, Deputy Director, and Supervisors.
