We are looking for Commissioning Manager for the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project!
The Project will build a new Normally Uninhabited Installation (NUI) to be installed in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan.
You be based in the selected engineering contractor office, selected fabrication facility in Baku (Azerbaijan) and eventually offshore for the final offshore hook up and commissioning.
In this role you will report to the SDC Project General Manager for the Commissioning phase and the SDC Project Operations Manager for the offshore Start Up.
Please note that the role is open for Azerbaijani citizens only.
Key accountabilities
Lead the development of the commissioning execution plan, with detailed schedule, resource plan and budget in line with the overall project execution plan
Identify and select appropriate resources to create an integrated commissioning management team and co-ordinate the work of the team to ensure tasks are performed effectively and efficiently
Lead commissioning work scope development and commissioning contractor selection, act as the contract accountable manager and manage changes to scope, then ensure delivery within the plan
Set performance targets for commissioning and manage commissioning activities and contractor(s) performance against these targets, intervening as needed to ensure they are met
Ensure conformance to bp's requirements and drive compliance with all technical integrity and HSE expectations generally acting as the site safety leader
Identify commissioning execution risks at appropriate project stages and ensure that risks are managed throughout the projet life cycle
Develop and maintain relationships with all applicable stakeholders, manage key contractor and commissioning interfaces to ensure smooth commissioning execution
Lead commissioning reviews (and contributes to other functional reviews) as required by bp's project common process and implement the commissioning self-verification programme
Oversee the embedding and sharing of commissioning learnings, networking with the community of practice and engaging with specialists when required
In this role, we have the following requirements
Essential Education:
University degree in Science/ Engineering or equivalent technical degree
Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Professional status
Essential knowledge, skills and experience :
15 years of experience in commissioning onshore or offshore projects with validated project management skills
Skilled at leading through complexity, executing projects in multi-stakeholder, multi-discipline, multi-cultural environments, with regional and country-specific issues and challenges.
Experience with diverse work forces would be highly desirable.
Deep technical understanding of facility system design, equipment, installation and commissioning areas.
Experience of effectively interfacing and working together with Engineering / Construction and Commissioning Contractors and Operations entities.
Experience with HSSE issues related to on-site commissioning activities.
Deep understanding of Commissioning Practices for both Greenfield and Brownfield projects and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction/commissioning quality.
Experience with working complex brownfield scopes while maintaining operations alignment
Strong networking and communication skills with the ability to influence and achieve outcomes
Working knowledge of finance / accounting practices and terminology as it relates to project economics, capital requirements
Proven track record of strong leadership experience in leading multicultural teams
